Cindy Clarke

My name is Cindy, and I design digital products in Toronto.

I've been creating thoughtful digital products since 2005. I started my career in web design, focusing mostly on the visual aspect of design. Over the years, I learned the importance of Human-Centered Design and how involving the human perspective at each step of the design process results in better designed products.

I formalized my UX training in 2015 with a User Experience Designer certification from Akendi, and also complete Bitmaker’s User Experience Design program.

In 2018 I had an opportunity to attend Bridge School's Product Design program (hosted by Rangle). Over 155 designers applied, and I was one of only twelve selected for the program.

I am currently looking for a full-time Product Design position to continue my adventures in problem solving.

I ❤️ Design

I love this industry! There are always exciting challenges, and I'm constantly learning new ways to solve problems. Not only that, but I am able to make a meaningful impact on people's lives. It's very rewarding. We also have a very supportive community that is ready to help a stranger out for the betterment of design as a whole.

My process is routed in human-centered design, where I consider human values from the begining of the design process, and continue to involve and advocate for them throughout each step. I believe involvement from all stakeholders (not just clients) are critical to project success, and I make sure that design decisions are based on research findings with real humans.

In The Community

Design X Community

I'm an active member of DesignX - an organization that connects designers from all disciplines. I meetup with other creatives to talk design, attend events, and give design feedback whenever I can.

I host a monthly meetup group for creatives who struggle with anxiety and depression. It's a safe space to share experiences and support one another. I am currently in talks with DesignX to make this group an official part of the community, and give back in a meaningful way.

Creative Mornings

Creative Mornings is a breakfast lecture series for the creative community. Each month I volunteer to facilitate the breakfast station, making sure our 200 attendees are well caffeinated and fed to get the most out of their event.
